Since high school Amanda has poured herself into children’s and youth ministry while also earning her degree, teaching and running a preschool, coaching entrepreneurs, working in retail, and even thriving in sales. Each season taught her something new about people, persistence, creativity, and care. What once looked like a winding road now feels like God’s way of preparing her for this calling.
Her heart beats for helping young people discover that church is not just a place but a way of living. She loves creating space where they can wonder deeply, ask questions without fear, and grow into their own voices. Amanda is shaped by the love of Jesus, a love that welcomes and affirms every person as God’s beloved and invites them to live that love out loud.
At home, Amanda and her husband Josh (NUMC’s resident tech guru) are raising three kids in a blended interfaith family that loves to laugh, garden, and simply do life together. Their small backyard has blossomed into a mini homestead with vegetables, herbs, flowers, a few hens, two dogs, and two cats. Amanda loves poetry, reading, and time in nature, and while she has pressed pause on her work as a doula until her youngest is older, walking with families through sacred moments remains one of her greatest joys. She and Josh still sneak away for dinner and a bookstore date whenever they can, and every summer their whole family looks forward to the Renaissance Faire where they were married.
Amanda wants every young person who walks through the doors of NUMC to feel what her own kids feel at home: seen, heard, safe, and free to grow. She believes youth should be given space to form their own faith through wonder and lived experience, not simply through memorizing scripture, and she is deeply committed to helping them discover a God whose love welcomes and affirms them just as they are.
