History Beyond the Textbook
Please come to the Northbrook Public Library on Tuesday, June 19 for a program in partnership between the Library and RAIN (Racial Awareness in the Northshore). This program will take place at 7:00 pm in the Pollak Room of the Library.
We will show a video about Juneteenth – a celebration of the end of slavery in the U.S., followed by a discussion led by former GBN A.P. history teacher, Bill Horine. He will discuss other little known aspects of U.S. history that is not taught in our schools or history books. The discussion may challenge your understanding of American History. Following, he will take questions.
There is no charge for this program so bring your friends.
