67So Jesus asked the twelve, “Do you also wish to go away?” 68Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom can we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69We have come to believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.” John 6

This week we come to the end of John chapter 6, the chapter that begins with crowds of 5,000 following after Jesus and ends with only a very small group–twelve or so–who have not left their following in disgust, discouragement, or complete confusion. Recently, I was talking with some friends about how we “stay at the table” with persons who are very different from us, with whom we know we disagree theologically. “It is God who sets the table, we just have to keep bringing more chairs,” said one of my friends. It is Jesus who sets the table with his own body and blood in John chapter 6. A simple meal. Love, complete, broken, poured out love. Do I know that there is nowhere else to go for the food that keeps me alive? Am I bringing more chairs to the table?

Beginning Saturday, September 1, 9:30 am, we will gather for Small Group Faith Formation. If you are interested in
growing your faith and deepening your  spirituality, we have found this group to be a great means of sharing, learning,
and praying together. Stay tuned for what study we will take up in our group.

Line dance is back.  First session dates are 9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/2, 10/9 and 10/16.
